Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will open ceremonies for Fashion's Night Out at the Beverly Center September 10

Put your marathon shopping shoes on: It’s Fashion’s Night Out on September 10 and YOU ARE INVITED. Los Angeles kicks it up a notch this year for Fashion’s Night Out with City of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Grammy Award winning singer Will.i.am, and Vogue’s Lisa Love hosting runway shows and events at the Beverly Center beginning at 5pm.

What started last year as the New York fashion industry’s own economic stimulus plan is now a global annual shopping event. And it is going to be “epic” according to NYC’s global home base at http://fashionsnightout.com/ On September 14, CBS television will air a one-hour special on it. They’ve already launched a web site.

LA has officially joined Fashion’s Night Out with the Mayor’s office coordinating activities for Los Angeles, including a web site with all the details. The Beverly Center serves as the LA hub, with big star-studded fashion shows on on the 6th floor, Center Court, and activities throughout the mall. Boutiques on LA’s favorite shopping streets–Melrose Ave, South Roberston, West Third Street, Abbot Kinney, and in Los Feliz, Silverlake and Downtown LA–will celebrate with special events of their own design.

Think: extended hours, champagne, special discounts, limited edition goods, designer appearances, free tailoring, surprise musical guests, guest DJ’s, celebrity sightings, short film screenings, blogger meet & greets, gifts with purchase. Every participating retailer will have its own spin on LA’s biggest shopping party. For the latest news, follow the Twitter stream at @FNOlosangeles and of course we’ll be tweeting and retweeting @FashionWeekLA.
