Marketplace comments on LA Fashion Week vs Month

Our friends at the California Apparel News recently surveyed the producers of LA Fashion Week events.
Article here. We are glad to hear there may be a return to a more condensed time frame for fashion week activities. We’ve long supported an organized and centralized hub for fashion week events, particularly the calendar, registration and communication. Not everyone “gets it” (to quote the most fashionably cultured) but we do see progress.
This coming week, the ragtag team of local producers, publicists and downtown mavens who comprise the city’s loosely organized fashion committee will convene again to discuss the future.
In the coming season we fully expect to see new event organizers step into the fray, continued push & pull around dates, and designers who continue to go their own way. It’s entrepreneurial, independent, exceptional. It’s messy, promising and starry-eyed. And so L.A.
