Google’s Call to Fashion

OK our first clue was the list of fashion designers creating customized browser skins for Google Chrome. (We sport a design by Jonathan Adler here at the FashionWeekLA office, in homage to his past collabs with Trina Turk and also because he’s cool.)

And then we connect with Tony Wang.

Tony Wang is the impossibly hip post.fashionism blogger, Googler, and YouTube program producer. We discover that he’s heading up an internal pilot program for fashion at Google code name “GSTYLE.” We’re not sure what it’s all about, save to say that when Google is interested in something, they usually dive DEEP.  Expect to see some fashionable new tools and technologies emerging from this initiative at a future date. If it’s anything like Google Search (…or Docs or Maps or AdWords or Alerts or Gmail or YouTube…) we expect we’ll be using it every day.

Right now: Google is listening, so follow @TheTonyWang on Twitter, send him an @reply, and he’ll respond.

It’s now officially square to be hip.
