A Maple Street space on Park(ing) Day invited passersby to share thoughts on improving the LA Fashion District

The City of LA wants to hear from you: what would you like to see improved in the downtown Los Angeles Fashion District?

An 18-month-long planning process dubbed the “Design for Development” kicked off last month and a new site and Facebook page have launched to share news and collect feedback. The LA Fashion District is the largest in the nation at more than 100 square blocks. It operates its own Business Improvement District, meaning the property owners reach deeper into their pockets to boost essential services. The goal?  To keep the area clean, safe, to promote its scope of offerings, and to and make it more attractive to retailers, wholesalers, shoppers and a growing community of residents.  It also publishes a market week calendar, and a periodically refreshed list of brands available to wholesale buyers in the district.

Now is the time to join the conversation, share your thoughts, and share with friends. “Like” the Facebook page, follow the news blog and provide your feedback for a better LA Fashion District. You don’t need to be an Angeleno to have an opinion: the district serves buyers and sellers from all over the world including YOU.

Need better public transportation? Think it really needs a fresh new look? Wish there was a gateway registration center or concierge service to help you find stuff? Hoping for more green space or late night action? Eager to get some building or zoning codes changed? Desperately seeking a  solid list of samplemakers?  Now is the time and here is the place to make your helpful suggestions.
