L.A. Fashion Week is almost here
There is a lot to see in fashion this month for the savvy stylists, buyers, bloggers and journalists willing to cross the city to ferret out the best of Spring 2012 from a host of emerging and established designers and brands. From runway shows to creative installations to trade shows and parties, there is a lot of ground to cover. Highlights:
Oct 11: Fashion blogger community Two Point OH! LA will gather for its seasonal pre-fashion week kick-off party
Oct 10-12: The fabric, trim and technology behind fashion is the focus of the Textile Show at the California Market Center with the essential ingredients of Fall/Winter 2012-13
Oct 13: Heralded fashion designer Sue Wong presents Spring 2012 “Lady or Vamp” at a private venue
Oct 13-17: Concept Fashion Week installations and presentations takes place at Ace Gallery
Oct 14: The peerless Project Ethos fashion/music/art jam returns to the House of Blues
Oct 17-19: The British Fashion Council presents LONDON show ROOMS at Ace Gallery
Oct 17-21: Relative newcomer Style Fashion Week to present its second season at Vibiana
Oct 17: LA Fashion Corner and World Networks Inc present Caring with Style in Hollywood.
Oct 17: F2 Runway Show at noon at the California Market Center puts designers in the spotlight for Market Week
Oct 17-19: Coeur Trade Show debuts at The Cooper Design Space downtown with a handpicked selection of fashion accessories
Oct 17-21: It’s Market Week at California Market Center and other showroom buildings downtown
Oct 20: Moss Adams LLP presents its Fashion Innovator Award at a runway event featuring emerging designers affiliated with the education non-profit Fashion Business Inc at Vibiana.
Oct 20: Project Ethos Private Label presents Marialia at private venue in Hollywood.
Oct 21: Fashion Minga presents its spirited take on the season at Boulevard 3.
Oct 22: Gen Art Fresh Faces in Fashion Los Angeles edition at Vibiana.
Oct 23: Rodeo Drive Walk of Style honors Italian fashion house Missoni and supermodel Iman in a special ceremony
Oct 21-23: Closing Market Week is LA Fashion Weekend at Sunset Gower Studios
Oct 26-27: The definitive pop-up showroom Simply Stylist for editorial and celebrity stylists returns
Oct 28: Designs for the Cure hosted by David Meister in affiliation with Otis College of Art & Design to benefit Susan G Komen for the Cure
