Registration Now Open

Testing of a new pan-event LA Fashion Week registration service is open now through October 10 at FashionWeekLA.com. The purpose is to facilitate connections for designers and press and to better calibrate event information for both fashion fans and the industry insiders who rely on the calendar site.

With growing interest by consumers in the inner workings of Fashion Week, and at the request of professionals, FashionWeekLA.com will begin collecting data from site visitors who register, and will share that information with designers and event producers at no cost for this season’s debut.

This service test is market driven: We’ve heard from far flung editors and buyers that they wanted our help. As in other cities, they were seeking a central source to facilitate connections to designers and event producers and to keep them up to date on what will be happening here. Further, local publicists for invite-only events wanted to limit the availability of contact details to the public, while other event producers were cropping up that really wanted to connect with as many fashion savvy consumers as possible. So it made lots of sense to us to start registering and splitting up access to content.

To do this required a complete overhaul of the web site, and EMC2Web.com came to our rescue for phase 1 of a multiphase site redesign. The next phase of development– to debut in time for the March 2010 season — will include a more sophisticated look and feel, refinements to the registration process with the help of the TheContactListOnline.com and new calendar search, sort and download features powered by global fashion calendar TheFashionList.com.

Though Fashion Week dates for Los Angeles fall behind others on the global fashion calendar, and indeed this season are strewn across an entire month (!) interest in California fashion remains high. LA Fashion Week can be a magnet, but it requires visionary fashion houses to rally around common dates and venues and provide an exceptional experience to really make it happen.

At the very least, FashionWeekLA.com will be here to support and connect with the most comprehensive calendar of key fashion events taking place across the city.  We look forward to seeing you in Los Angeles muchachos.
